Transforming a simple idea into a working concept product in 3 weeks.
Pick-a-Dex is an improved version of the Pokédex — a Pokémon-based game system that lets you capture objects and view detailed information about anything you scan.
We added new features like rankings, social media integration, and a gamified system to enhance the fun factor.

The Problem
When they first gave me a rough idea of the Pick-a-Dex concept, they had a starting screen to show. But as I dug deeper, it became clear that the concept had a problem and needed a new direction.
Lack of visual direction
The original design lacked harmony. We crafted an earthy, grounded palette to reflect the product's tone and support a more immersive gamified experience.
No consistent design patterns
There were no reusable UI elements, which slowed collaboration. We introduced scalable patterns to streamline handoffs and speed up development.
Too many unnecessary screens
The flow was bloated with redundant steps, hurting UX and retention. We ran a UX audit to simplify journeys and cut friction.

The solution
We started everything from scratch
In just 3 weeks, we transformed a rough idea into a fully realized concept. The Pick-a-Dex experience was redesigned from the ground up — resulting in a clear, usable, and development-ready product.

User Experience Result
Defined layout with more consistent information architecture
We cleaned up the ranking screen by removing duplicates and highlighting key details. The new layout makes it easier to understand your rank at a glance and gives proper recognition to top players — helping users feel more motivated and less confused.
